We are so very grateful to the Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks for colloborating with us to use forested areas at public parks!
Piedmont Forest School programs are currently held at Salem Lake Park, a 365-acre park surrounding Salem Lake Reservoir. We serve families from Forsyth and surrounding counties, including Guilford, Stokes, Surry and Yadkin.
We will be moving all programing to Little Creek Park for the 2026-2027 school year.
We have loved holding sessions at Salem Lake Park and we will miss this amazing environment.
Little Creek has its own magical things to offer. The creek play here is unique. The sandy beach creeksides, slow moving waters, and abundance of natural clay deposits offer rich play opportunities that children and adults alike cannot get enough of. No matter where you are in the 15 acre park, there is easy access to the creek. In addition, there are vernal pools, grassy areas, and hills for climbing, all forested. We are looking forward to connecting with this natural space again and are excited to expose those of you who have not yet experienced it.
We hope to one day have land to call our own where we can continue to offer nature-based education and support for neurodivergent learners.
